Jo Baguley
Position: Director
I am Team Leader for litigation, resource management and local government.
I have over 20 years’ experience as a Court Lawyer. I act for claimants and defendants in all court disputes ranging from District Court to Court of Appeal. I have experience in estate litigation, trust disputes, commercial contract disputes, negligence and insurance. Before moving back home in 2005, I worked up to the top levels in city corporate firms Russell McVeagh and Chapman Tripp.
My key specialist area is environmental law. I am the chief local provider to the Far North District Council for resource management issues. This means that I cannot accept instructions to act against the Council. However, I welcome other clients who may have resource management issues with other Councils such as Whangarei.
I grew up in Kerikeri. My family has been a part of the Far North community for 40 years. I know our people well and mix with all walks of life through work and my family. This gives me exceptional local insight when resolving matters. I understand the challenge of doing business in a small community and the absolute importance of confidence and reputation.
I am married with two young and energetic daughters. We spend holidays camping at the beach and searching out the best of the kiwi outdoors. We are also renowned for our Thai kingfish curry and best tasting plums in town.
